The short version
Your recovery is yours. We collect the minimum data needed to run Soberpedia, we never sell it, and we give you straightforward controls to export or delete everything. If a clinician is on your care team, only people you've explicitly invited can see your check-ins.
What we collect
- Account data: email, password hash, optional avatar, username, and time zone.
- Recovery data: your sobriety start date, daily check-ins (mood, craving, optional notes), milestones earned, and SoberCents balance.
- Communication: messages you send to SoberAI, direct messages with other members, and any clinician case notes (visible only to the clinician who wrote them).
- Operational data: basic security logs (sign-in IP, browser) used to detect abuse.
Who can see your data
By default, only you. Your username and avatar are public on your profile and the leaderboard (only if you opt in). Clinicians on your care team can see your check-ins and risk alerts only after you accept their relationship. Soberpedia staff can access data when strictly required to operate the service or comply with the law.
How we use AI
Messages you send to SoberAI are processed by trusted AI providers to generate responses. We don't sell your prompts, and providers are contractually prohibited from using them to train their models on identifiable data.
Crisis & safety
If our systems detect language suggesting imminent self-harm, we will surface crisis resources (988 in the US) and may notify a clinician already on your care team. We will never share crisis content with marketers, advertisers, or law enforcement absent a valid legal demand.
Your rights
You can export every record we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, or permanently delete your account from Settings. Deletion is irreversible and removes your check-ins, messages, and SoberCents ledger within 30 days.
